Each summer, Wirral Play Council operates free open-access Playschemes throughout the borough for children between the ages of 6 - 13.

Summer Playschemes offer children a safe, friendly and accessible environment to play in during the school holidays.
Enthusiastic, approachable & creative playworkers are on hand to help enhance the children's freely chosen play activities.
The playschemes offer activities such as indoor/outdoor sports, arts & crafts, parachute games, badge making, discos, and themed events.

Sessions are operated on an Open Access basis, which means that children are free to come and go as they choose - The schemes DO NOT operate as care schemes.

The schemes are supported by Local Authority Education & Cultural Services in conjunction with Voluntary and Community groups and are registered with the Ofsted Inspection Unit.

Due to funding cuts, the majority of 2014's summer playschemes only ran Mondays to Thursdays.
